The Details
Lyocell is what separates this collection from everything else in the line. It is a cellulose fiber made from wood pulp in a closed-loop process where the solvent is captured and reused rather than discharged. What matters for a towel is how it behaves: lyocell has a smooth fiber surface, moves moisture quickly, and unlike most plant fibers it holds its strength when wet. Since a towel spends its whole working life wet and then goes through a hot wash while still wet, that wet strength translates directly into a towel that survives commercial laundering. The fast moisture movement also means it dries out more completely between uses.
The Smart Twist yarn is the second difference. Low-twist towels feel plush because the fibers are left open rather than compacted by tight twisting, which exposes more fiber surface to absorb water. The catch is that loose yarn is too fragile to survive weaving on its own, so the standard industry fix is to wrap it in a water-soluble plastic filament that washes out afterward.
