Economy PLUS Washcloths 12x12 - 16s 86/14 Poly Cotton Blend

An economy towel spun from 16s open-end yarn in an 86% cotton, 14% polyester blend, finer in the hand than the coarsest towels at this price. Built for care facilities, group homes, gyms, schools and camps buying in volume for daily use and routine replacement.

The Facts

  • Yarn: 16s open-end spun
  • Border: Single CAM border
  • Blend: 86% cotton / 14% polyester
  • Best for: Resident rooms, locker rooms, shared baths, hospitals, clinics and stock that turns over quickly

The Details

Yarn count explains the feel. The number rises as the yarn gets finer, so 16s is a thinner yarn than the 10s common at the very bottom of the economy range, and a thinner yarn makes a less coarse loop. Open-end spinning, the fast and inexpensive method, is what holds the price down.

Polyester is the structural half of the blend. It is stronger than cotton and resists stretching and shrinking, so the towel holds its size and shape through frequent hot washes better than an all-cotton towel at this price.

Out of the package these feel slightly stiff, since new towels carry finish from the mill. After the first wash the finish is gone and the pile softens and fills out.

Hand Towel 16" x 27" 3 lbs

Oxford Tuscany Towel Collection - Washcloth 13x13

A 100% zero twist cotton towel with an all-over checker texture across its face, finished with a CAM border. Built for hotels, spas and senior living guest suites that want a plush towel with a more contemporary look than a smooth face and a decorative band.

The Facts

  • Fiber: 100% zero twist cotton
  • Border: CAM border
  • Pattern: All-over checker texture
  • Feel: Lofty and plush, from yarn spun with little or no twist
  • Best for: Hotel guest rooms, spas, pool decks, and senior living guest suites

The Details

The yarn is why this towel feels the way it does. Most towel yarn is tightly twisted for strength, which packs the fibers down. Zero twist yarn leaves out most of that twist, so the fibers stay loose and full, and each loop presents more open fiber to the skin and to water.

The checker pattern covers the entire towel rather than sitting in a band at the ends. That gives the surface texture from edge to edge, and it is what sets Tuscany apart visually from the rest of the Luxe collections.

The open surface that makes zero twist soft also makes it easier to snag. Velcro, rough hooks and jewelry can pull loops, so Tuscany suits guest-facing rooms better than heavy-duty general stock.

Oxford Viceroy Towel Collection - Washcloth 13x13

A combed cotton terry towel with two-ply yarn in the pile, finished with a checkered border that has small pile loops of its own. Built for senior living communities and mid-range hotels that want a textured, guest-ready towel that stands up to frequent laundering.

The Facts

  • Fiber: 100% combed cotton terry
  • Border: Checkered border, woven from two-ply ring-spun cotton with small pile loops
  • Pile: Two-ply cotton yarn
  • Best for: Guest baths, senior living suites, hotel rooms and pool areas

The Details

Every loop in this towel is made from two strands of yarn twisted together rather than one. Plying makes a stronger, more even yarn than a single strand of the same fiber, so the loops hold up better against the rubbing of washing and tumbling, which is where towels wear out first.

Combing adds to that. Before spinning, the cotton is combed to strip out short fibers, leaving longer, more uniform fiber with fewer loose ends at the surface. That keeps the terry smooth rather than fuzzy as it ages.

The border carries small pile loops set into a checkered pattern, so it reads as texture rather than a flat stripe across the ends of the towel.

Oxford Imperiale Color Towel Collection - Washcloth 13x13 - Blu Mist

A 100% ring-spun cotton towel in five vat-dyed colors, finished with a dobby border and dobby edge. Built for senior living communities, mid-range hotels and pool areas that want color in their linens from a dye that is locked into the fiber.

The Facts

  • Fiber: 100% ring-spun cotton
  • Border: Dobby border with dobby edge
  • Color: Bone, Kashmir Green, Blue Mist, Colonial Blue and Charcoal Grey
  • Dye: Vat dyed
  • Best for: Guest baths, resident rooms, hotel rooms and pool areas

The Details

In a colored towel, the dyeing method matters most. Vat dye enters the cotton in a soluble form, soaks into the fiber, and is then converted back into an insoluble pigment trapped inside it. Because the color sits within the fiber rather than on its surface, it resists washing out and holds up well in sunlight.

The yarn is ring-spun, drawn and twisted tightly so fewer fiber ends stick out from the surface. That gives the towel a smoother hand and a stronger loop than open-end yarn.

Five colors also give a facility a simple sorting system. One shade for pool towels and another for guest rooms keeps linens where they belong.
